Emily J. Smith is a writer based in Brooklyn. Her debut novel, Nothing Serious, was published by William Morrow (HarperCollins). Her writing has appeared in The Rumpus, LitHub, Curbed, Hobart, Slate, Vice, The Washington Post, and elsewhere. Her short story, Warning Signs, was published in the anthology Terraform (FSG, 2022), which received a starred Kirkus review. She co-hosts the podcast Clean Countertops, and you can find her on Substack, where she writes the newsletter Unresolving.
